Being Well: Ōtautahi Summer Youth Gathering is an initiative that is supported by the Youth Section of the New Zealand Anthroposophical Society. The Anthroposophical Society in New Zealand is part of a world wide movement inspired by the philosophy and research of Rudolf Steiner.

The Youth Section is a peer-led worldwide network that actively supports the spiritual striving of youth.

The Rudolf Steiner Schools, the bio-dynamic farms and products (which have the Demeter label), and Weleda are some of the better known impulses working out of anthroposophy.

Some people who come to and organise Summer Gatherings have been to Rudolf Steiner Schools, but not all. The Summer Gatherings are for anybody who is interested, and bring together young people with a variety of backgrounds.
